Kuya Doms: Ma, inyo man ming ihatud ugma sa airport noh?
Mama: Dili. Di namo ka ihatud ugma.
Kuya Doms: Ha?! Ngano man? Nganong di man mi ninyo ihatud ugma? [imagine him saying this with his loud voice]
Mama: Dili namo ka ihatud ugma. Amo kang i-tagbu ugma.
Kuya Doms: Ai, bitaw noh. Hehe
translation
KD: Ma, diba ihahatid mo kami bukas sa airport?
M: Hindi. Di ka namin ihahatid bukas.
KD: Ha?! Bakit naman? Bakit di niyo kami ihahatid bukas?
M: Di ka namin ihahatid bukas. Susunduin ka namin bukas.
KD: Ai, onga noh. Hehe

on the lighter (?) side of the bombing incident
Despite the graveness of the situation that happened, Iliganons still have a knack of making situations a bit lighter.
status messages of some Iligan contacts:
- Merry Christmas! Boom! [Rexxie]
- Maaga (natapos) ang pasko sa Iligan [Johann]
- Let it blow! (3x) [Ackie] ("let it snow" dapat)
- Good bombings we bring, while you go shopping [Ackie] ("good tidings we bring..." dapat)
excerpt from a blog post:
- my mom was actually shopping for gifts for her fellow teachers in Unicity around two pm. She even saw the explosion. She said the people around her were screaming and her companion even made weewee in her pants because of fear. [BR]
comment from a photo album:
on a picture of people running and panicking, while one guy is just walking calmly
- 100% pinoy. I like the guy in lower right.. just playin' it cool.. para ingnon isog! (kalibangon na diay tu sa kaguol) [translation: so that others will say he's strong! (but in fact, he feels like shitting because of panic)]. ;)
forwarded text message:
- safe ang iligan 2day ky naa c PGMA k0ug nya clang Naruto, clang Goku ug ang Justice Leage, m0pas rdw unyang hp0n ang p0wer rangers .. 0k ra mang laag unya gbie .. Pls pass ..
[translation: Iligan is safe today because PGMA is here, with Naruto, Goku and the Justice League. The Power Rangers will arrive later this day. It is alright to go out tonight. Please pass]

Lingaw ... masuya lang ang masuya XP
Lingaw. That's what I can describe the Tinago outing today. Sure there were only nine of us who went (me, Kara, Jade, Dahl, Maan who wore a bikini, Sheryl Lyn, Vinn aka our driver, Ian, Martin). We don't care because we had FUN. Nine was just a good number of people that could fit in the van that Vinn brought. It's a good thing that I decided to go to Tinago with them. I was feeling really lazy the day before. Too bad this blog post is my only documentation of the event. But I'll probably steal pictures from Kara, Shai and Martin XD
The day started out slow. I was the first to arrive at the meeting place even though I was moving more slowly than usual while I was in my house. Jade and Kara followed shortly. We waited 2-3 hours for the other people to arrive (*ehem*Ian*ehem*Shai*ehem*). So we bought lechon manok, eating utensils, and drinks. When we were complete, we headed to Tinago (but we had to stop by to buy 2 additional lechon manok, rice/puso, and to pick Dahl and Ma-an at Tominobo).
The fun started at Tinago. After descending ~500 steps (according to wikipedia), we reached Tinago Falls. Since it was lunch time when we arrived (see how late we were? the call time was 8 AM), we ate the food we bought. After that, we went to the cold waters of the lagoon. We swam a little before we decided to ride the bamboo raft to reach the falls (and we rode it a few more times after that ;P). We reached the falls and felt the heavy (and a bit painful) patter of the water. We swam again. Went back to the falls area to go through it and sit under the falls. We had pictures taken (special mention to the vain people: Ian, Shai, Martin). We formed a circle. Some of us (including me) learned how to dive a little. We swam again. We finished off the leftover food. We went to the falls area. Basically, that's what we did when we were there. We acted like we were the ones who were entirely new to Tinago Falls (even if we are pure-bred Iliganons). It was really fun. The only ugly part was when we had to ascend the ~500 steps so that we could go home. I'd love to be there and do these things with my friends all over again (except for the stairs part o_O).
The last time I went to Tinago Falls was way back in grade school. I just swam in the lagoon with my cousins. It was still fun. But the fun today is definitely better.
Happenings like this make me sad of the fact that I have to return to Manila.
