New dorms are coming, with the cafeteria located in the new building. Will new setting = new caterer?
Which reminds me, it's been a long time since I ate food from Cervini Caf.
Could it be because of
- its mostly oily food (you think the sauce that meat swims in is just sauce? or oil? think again!)? [fun experiment to try: order a viand like "beef w/ *something*" and just eat the meat. Then leave the sauce to cool for 10 minutes or more. You'll be surprised with the oiliness of the sauce]
- its many viands that taste the same (e.g., beef with brocolli, beef with carrot, beef with potato, beef with *insert something*)?
- its cleanliness (I don't know if they have improved or not. But I remember in first year when an insect dove into the sauce, and when we pointed it to them, they replied, "paminta lang")?
- its price (I just think P45 onwards for a viand is not sulit, especially when the food is just ordinary, and when I know places like the LST and ISO caf serve cheaper food.)?
There are times that the caf serves nice meals. But it's not an everyday occurrence. Unfortunately.
I still have pizza left in the refrigerator. That will still last me a day. And prolong my decision on whether to eat dinner from the caf once my pizza is gone.
kami ni marko dati nakatikim ng panis na togue na kasama ng "beef teriyaki" nila.... :-s
ReplyDeleteit's weird.. but i actually miss the cervini caf. haha
ReplyDeleteoh.. i used to like the french toast tho. but the stall the sells them closed down during your freshmen year i think..
hopefully the new dorm will have a new caterer. it's hard to swallow the food they serve in the cervini caf.
ReplyDeleteactually, i don't mind if they'd have the same caterer as long as they'd get new ones as well. the problem with our caf is that the caterer has monopoly over everything. there's zero competition, consequently zero quality.
OILY!!!!
ReplyDeleteI think the oil makes them all taste the same... jowk!
pero i really find it so funny that they change the names of the viands when they all taste the effing same :P
beef with orange! don't forget! hahah.
ReplyDelete@yeye: nagkwento si marko na yung isang tao habang naglalagay siya ng donuts sa container, dinidilaan niya daliri niya (eww)
ReplyDelete@cheskie: is it missable? :O
@jaime: that would be great. but i don't want our caf to look like a food court. hehe
@claudia: i agree. what's the point? why not call it beef with sauce to make things simpler?
@karla: i never noticed "beef with orange". "chicken orange" lang. at "barbarian chicken" =))
food court sort of caf will be loads more expensive. gah. we need better food. the caf will be the death of so many. hahhaa.
ReplyDeletea little competition won't hurt in fact i dont think it'd cause us that much more. it's possible it'd be cheaper with the competition and all... at this point, i guess anything would be better than what we currently have. hahaha. :))
ReplyDeleteand i agree all their food taste the same. my theory is its all recycled with an additional ingredient. from beef in soy... add mushrooms. beef and mushroom. perfect! haha. :))
hahaha! natawa ako dun sa "beef with " hahaha! XD
ReplyDelete@karla: whether we eat from the caf or from deliveries, I think we're going to die early.
ReplyDelete@jaime: that's a brilliant theory! wahaha!
@penpen: yup, laging mag "beef with _" ang caf namin. at parang walang nag-iiba sa lasa
