S**t happens

My PC's motherboard is utterly destroyed.  If I replace it with a new motherboard, I have to buy new hardware (RAM, sound card, video card, etc.) for it, because the old motherboard is obsolete (my PC is secondhand).  The only thing I can salvage is the LAN card and perhaps the hard drive.  Somehow, having a new motherboard is like buying a brand new CPU (and the CPU is the most expensive part of the PC).

To Giant: It was nice spending time with you for a year.  You lived for almost 5 years with me and my brother.  I hope you enjoyed your time while it lasted.

My mother said that it is time to buy me a new laptop.  Although I like having a new laptop, I know buying it would cause a dent in our budget (which I don't like).  Of all the days to have your CPU destroyed.... It's so frustrating

Well, here I am typing away at a computer unit in Rizal Library...  I'd guess I'll be spending the next couple of days in the lib... typing away at my papers, surfing the net, and all.  Shit happens.  Why now?!

bored

I have nothing to do for today. Math long test is over, and things seem peaceful for this day (like a calm before another storm). So I just read the old entries in my brother's blog. It's somehow strange how one's thoughts change over the years. When you're an undergraduate student, your problem is finishing college. When you're a graduate, your problem is finding a job. When you have a job, you're thinking whether you'll pursue graduate studies or not. In my stage right now, what I'm thinking about is finishing college and maintaining my scholarship. Sooner or later, I will reach the other stages that my brother has experienced or is currently experiencing. This reminds me of the "My Story" that I read in the January issue of Reader's Digest. I could somehow relate with what the author is experiencing.

Anyway, I'm just bored today and that's why I'm writing this post. It's Thursday today... a few hours later, it will be Friday. The hands of the clock never stops moving. It's sad. It's depressing.

the outcome

The end of Single's Awareness Day a.k.a. as Valentine's Day is near.  Sadly, few have only heeded my proposal.  A good thing is that I saw some people wearing white (though I don't know if they are wearing the color on purpose).  However, I am still not giving up on my Utopian society.  Slowly but surely, my followers will increase.  So far, only Derrick has totally agreed with my modest proposal.  I will make sure that in the following years, my idea will catch on with the public.

For the meantime, I will face math.

Viva Single's Awareness Day!

a product of procrastination:

Valentine's Day or Single's Awareness Day is fast approaching. To make my proposal come true (please refer to previous entry), I suggest that the idea of Valentine's Day should be scrapped, and I propose that Single's Awareness Day should be the only event celebrated on February 14 (aside from birthdays, anniversaries, and the like). With the joy and awareness of being single, people will no longer consider a relationship that concerns having children. Everyone will live life to the fullest without having any younger person to think of. It would be such a hassle to have kids, and Single's Awareness Day might give the people the chance to realize this important fact. Consequently, the people will decide to stay single and not have kids. What about those who yearn to be in a close relationship with someone, and where that someone is capable of procreating with them? I still do not have any plans on how to address those people. But in due time, I will come up with something. So far, the only idea I have come up is that those people should not reproduce. If they want to do recreational activities, then they should do so with the necessary precautions.

Anyway, the idea of implementing Single's Awareness Day as the only event for February 14 is only a step in realizing my dream of a Utopian society. I believe there will come a time when there won't be a future generation, and we will have all the resources to ourselves. Then we would no longer have to worry on how we will save the earth because we are the only ones left in earth. Screw the environmentalists! They are only delaying the ticking time bomb of the earth's destruction. That day of destruction will come, whether we like it or not. We might as well hasten that day's coming. And for the meantime, only WE should enjoy all the benefits of the earth to ourselves.
